Deactivating pauses a student: it takes them off future lessons but keeps their records, and it’s reversible. To remove a student for good, see Delete a student instead.

Deactivate a student

1

Open the actions menu

On the student’s profile (or their row in the Students list), click the menu.
2

Choose Deactivate

Select Deactivate. A confirmation dialog explains what will happen.
3

Confirm

Click Deactivate to confirm.
Once you confirm:
  • The student’s status changes to Inactive, and they move to the Inactive tab on the Students list.
  • They’re removed from all future lessons. Lessons just for them are deleted; group lessons carry on without them.
  • Their financial history and open charges are unaffected: charges stay billable through the student’s account.

Reactivate a student

To bring a student back, open the menu on the Inactive student and choose Activate. This opens the new-event modal with the student already added: adding them to a lesson reactivates them. To fill in and save the lesson, see Create an event.
Deactivating is reversible and leaves finances intact, so it’s the safe choice when a student might return. A Locked student (a Hobby studio over its student limit) has no Activate or Deactivate option; that case is covered on Delete a student.

FAQ

No. Lesson history, contacts, and financial records all stay. Their status just changes to Inactive and they come off future lessons.
The group lesson continues without them. Only lessons that are just for the deactivated student are deleted.
Open the menu on the Inactive student and choose Activate, then add them to a lesson. See Create an event.
