The Upcoming tab of Finances → Invoices is a preview of each account’s next bill: every charge waiting to be invoiced, plus the recurring charges due before the next cycle close. Looking never creates anything.

Read the tab

One row per account with something pending. Next bill tells you what will happen, based on your automation level:
It readsMeaning
Sends Full auto: the invoice sends itself at that close.
Drafts Draft for review: a draft lands in the Draft tab at that close.
Accrues; invoice by handManual: charges collect; nothing is assembled.
Items counts two kinds of line:
  • Ready: charges that already exist and aren’t on any invoice.
  • Scheduled: recurring charges due before the close that haven’t been created yet, shown with a clock icon. Lessons are never predicted; a lesson charge appears only after you mark attendance.
Click a row to see the lines and the total.

Bill an account now

Don’t want to wait for the close? Each row carries one action:
  • Create draft (Manual and Draft for review): builds an invoice from the account’s ready charges and opens it in the editor.
  • Send now (Full auto): builds the invoice and sends it, after a confirmation showing the account and amount.
Either way the result is an ordinary invoice you made, frozen at creation. Automation never adds to it; anything that accrues afterwards starts the account’s next upcoming bill.
Scheduled lines aren’t included: a charge that doesn’t exist yet can’t be billed. Harness tells you how many were left out; they bill at the next close as usual.

FAQ

Upcoming only shows uninvoiced charges. If the account’s charges already sit on a draft (including one Harness assembled), they’re in the Draft tab instead.
Wait for it to be created, then void it in Finances → Transactions. A voided recurring charge stays skipped; it won’t reappear on Upcoming.
