# Keyboard shortcuts

> Every shortcut in Harness, for the things you do most.

Press `?` anywhere in Harness to see this list in the app (it's also under your account menu as **Keyboard shortcuts**). Shortcuts don't fire while you're typing in a field or while a dialog is open.

## Everywhere

| Shortcut    | What it does              |
| ----------- | ------------------------- |
| `e`         | New event                 |
| `c`         | Add a charge              |
| `x`         | Add an expense            |
| `Shift` `M` | Log mileage               |
| `?`         | Show the shortcuts dialog |
| `Esc`       | Close the open dialog     |

## On the calendar

| Shortcut              | What it does                                                |
| --------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| `d` or `1`            | Day view                                                    |
| `w` or `7`            | Week view                                                   |
| `m`                   | Month view                                                  |
| `2` to `6`            | Visible days view with that many days                       |
| `t`                   | Jump to today                                               |
| `j` or `→`            | Next day, week, or month (matches the view)                 |
| `k` or `←`            | Previous                                                    |
| `Cmd` `+` / `Cmd` `−` | Zoom the grid's hours taller or shorter (`Ctrl` on Windows) |
