# Reschedule links

> Find a new time for an existing event with a shareable link.

A reschedule link moves an event you've **already scheduled** to a new time. Send the student a single-use link, they pick a new slot, and the original event moves to it.

<Note>
  Reschedule links are on the Professional plan; on the Hobby plan the **Reschedule** action is hidden. See [Plans and limits](/docs/settings/plans-and-limits).
</Note>

## Send a reschedule link

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Reschedule">
    Right-click the event and choose **Reschedule**, or open the event and click the **Reschedule** button. Harness creates the link, copies its URL, and opens the link's settings in the Scheduling panel.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the open times">
    Add the availability you want to offer for the move, in the form or by dragging on the calendar grid while the link is open. The URL is on your clipboard before you've added times; if the student opens it too early, the page just says no times are available yet, so add your windows before you send it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick the move scope (repeating events only)">
    If the event repeats, choose whether the move applies to one date or the whole series.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the link">
    The link was already copied when you opened it. Use **Copy link** to grab the URL again, or **Copy with message** to paste it with your note.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Choose what moves

When you're rescheduling a repeating series, the link offers a **Move scope** choice:

| Choice                 | What moves                                                     |
| ---------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **This event only** | Just the booked date moves. The repeating pattern stays as-is. |
| **This and following** | The series shifts to the new slot. Past dates stay untouched. |

## After the student picks a time

The move is immediate: no approval step, the event is already at its new time when you next look. Both sides hear about it:

* The student's schedule-notification contacts get an email with the new time and an updated calendar invite, so the old entry in their calendar app moves too.
* You get a notification email.

The link closes itself after the move (one move, one link). To move the same event again, or a different one, start a fresh link. If the student never clicks, nothing happens: the event stays where it was, and you can delete the link from the Scheduling panel to withdraw the offer.

  <Accordion title="Can I just move the event myself instead?">
    Yes. Drag the event to a new time on the grid, or use the right-click menu. See [Manage your calendar](/docs/calendar/managing-your-calendar). Use a reschedule link when you'd rather the student choose.
