# Navigate your calendar

> Views, moving through time, and finding what's on your calendar.

Your calendar is one schedule shown through two panes: the **agenda** (a list) and the **grid** (a picture of your time). You choose how much of that picture to see at once, from a single day to a whole month.

## The two panes

* **Agenda** (left): everything in the current view as cards, grouped by day in time order. In Month view the day groups start collapsed to keep the list scannable; today and **Unscheduled** stay open.
* **Grid** (right): your days laid out as columns with an **all-day strip** across the top, or as a month of day cells in Month view.

<Note>
  On a phone you see the agenda only. The grid, the all-day strip, and
  drag-and-drop are on desktop and tablet.
</Note>

## Pick a view

Open the **Calendar** menu in the header to switch views.

| View             | What it shows                                                                                                                     | Shortcut   |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------- |
| **Day**          | One day, hour by hour                                                                                                             | `d`        |
| **Week**         | The full week                                                                                                                     | `w`        |
| **Visible days** | A rolling window of 2 to 6 days starting on the day you're on. Handy if you only teach part of the week. | `2` to `6` |
| **Month** | The whole month as day cells. Busy days show "+N more"; click it to see everything, or click a day number to drill into that day. | `m` |

## Move through time

* **Step forward or back** with the arrows in the header (or `j` and `k`). The step matches the view: a day, a week, your visible-day window, or a month.
* **Jump to today** with the **Today** button (or `t`).
* **Jump to any date**: click the date label in the header to open a mini calendar and pick a day.
* **Zoom** with `Cmd` `+` / `Cmd` `−` (`Ctrl` on Windows) to make the grid's hours taller or shorter. Zoom changes only the row height, never any times.

The full shortcut set lives in [Keyboard shortcuts](/docs/getting-started/keyboard-shortcuts), or press `?` in the app.

## Read what's on the calendar

Every item sits in one of three places:

| State           | Where it sits                                                                   |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Timed** | In the grid at its hour (it has a start and end time) |
| **All-day** | In the all-day strip as a banner (one or more whole days, no clock time) |
| **Unscheduled** | A backlog section at the bottom of the agenda, until you place it (no date yet) |

## Times follow your studio timezone

All times follow your **studio timezone**, set in **Settings → Profile**, never your device's clock. The gutter left of the grid shows your offset (for example, `GMT-07`), so the times you see are the times your students see. Your week stays anchored to the studio timezone wherever you travel.
